The IDEA, .. more or less

It has to do with desktops, notebooks, servers, and also has to do with reviving the AXIM (Dells now defunct) PDA, as well as the DITTY (Dells now defunct MP3 Player).

It will change how software is sold, and possibly lead to a method for LEASING the more expensive software packages like for example those who dont really need a full copy of AUTOCAD(Autodesk's flagship Drafting product) for a whole year, .. maybe you only need it for a month or so.

I came up with this idea in the course of my day-to-day duties and so far the select people I have shared my idea with seem to think I'm crazy for not already patenting it and trying to hustle it (or pimp  it out whatever). But I say NAY, .. I think Mr. Dell and his company have everything in place to make my idea become a reality, .. HP, ACER, none of those companies think outside the box, .. just take a look at Dells latest
Inspiron Notebook - the M2010.

The PLAN for GETTING my IDEA to Mr. DELL

I intend to contact a different person at Dell at least once a week (via phone or email) and ask for Michael Dell, .. I will kindly let them know I've got an idea I'd like to share with Mr. Dell. I intend to share the names of the Dell employees I interact with , unless of couse some fancy Dell attorney tells me otherwise.

I will not share my idea with anyone other than Michael Dell himself, .. not the fancy CEO, nor the people at R&D in charge of coming up with stuff 'cause obviously they havent gone too far outside the box, but to be fair I'll bet even some of their cool ideas have been shot down by higher brass.

Who am I ...

You'd think I'm some sort of crazy person going throught all this trouble just to get an idea to Michael Dell. Well I'm not,  at least I don't think I am , .. I'm the IT manager, CAD manager, Automation Specialist at an engineering firm in Dallas, TX.

I'm gonna put some of my contact info out there, ..please be gentle..

Jose,
Thank you, I appreciate the rock comment.  You are funny!  I never found anyone to send ideas to.  I asked Marketing, my manager and our Brand Managers.  No one has ever run across your excitement to share with us.

Did you really send an email to Michael?  He has a team that answers his emails and they are usually really good at replying.  I would try and send it again:  michael@dell.com

Have a great evening.  I'm glad we are taking care of you!

Denise

Email I sent to Denise's BOSS Laura
9/14/2006

I decided to send an email to Denises boss simply because I noticed at the bottom of one of Denises emails its said:
"How am I doing? Email my manager: Laura"

So I emailed her a quick little email to test the waters and see if she would reply ..

Did Denise mention to ya that I would like for Michael Dell to give me a call, .. I have an idea for a new line of computers think(notebook/desktop/pda/mp3) that would blow everyone away.
I may sketch it out, .. and patent it, and send it to him for free, .. if you guys create it it would make my job a whole heck of a lot easier.

Yes, she sent me your idea and I forwarded it to the marketing group…I don’t have a direct contact for this type of situation, but I forwarded it to the product group.

They haven’t contacted you?  It wouldn’t be Michael Dell that would call you.

EMAIL I sent , ... just grasping here:
9/19/2006

I never got a response to the following email ..

Sent: Tue 9/19/2006
To:'michael_dell@dell.com';
'michael.dell@dell.com'; 'michael@dell.com'

Mr Dell,

I doubt that you will be personally receiving this email, .. but hopefully you receive a copy of it, .. or hopefully it lands in the right inbox. I have an idea for modifying existing systems and creating NEW ones to make them "UNIQUE" ... I will only discuss this with Mr. Dell himself.

This is not a fluke ... its the real deal  and has the potential to put DELL way over the top.

I'm not trying to sell you guys anything, .. I simply have an idea I would like to present to Mr. Dell himself.

I would even be willing to pay for the chance to sit down with him over lunch something.

I came up with the idea during the course of my day-to-day activities managing servers, notebooks, and desktops for an engineering firm in Dallas(all Dell systems of course).
